The residential garage floor is the highest-volume system in this industry, and the one clients judge hardest. Here is the full stack we supply for it.
The system
- Prep. Grind to profile. Fill cracks and spalls with Instant Patch polyurea or 800CF epoxy.
- Basecoat. Polyurea Slow Basecoat in gray or tan. Extended working window with a fast cure.
- Broadcast. 1/4" Decorative Chip Flake to refusal. Twelve blends in the Simiron range.
- Scrape and vacuum. Knock down the high points before topcoat.
- Topcoat. Polyaspartic HS for UV stability and gloss retention, or High-Wear Urethane where abrasion is the priority.
Coverage planning
A 40 lb box of 1/4" flake covers roughly 200–250 sq ft at full broadcast. A typical two-car garage (about 400–500 sq ft) takes two boxes with margin for waste. Order the extra box — running short mid-broadcast is a callback. See the coverage guide for the full table.
Hot weather note
Georgia summers compress pot life hard. On days above 90°F, consider Polyaspartic HS Xtra Slow Cure and mix smaller batches. Always follow the manufacturer's product data sheet for your conditions.
